I grew up in Detroit. My parents had grown up in the Depression and had been shaped by it and by WWII. I lived in a working class neighbohood and had a wonderful childhood there.
Reading was, and still is, my chief pleasure in life, right up there with being in nature, hiking in the mountains and swimming in the ocean whenever I get a chance.
I moved to Santa Fe in 1979 and it is my home, my safe place, my roots, after all this time. All my long time friends are here. My son is here and his wife. I have a strong sense of belonging.
I also love to cook. I hope you will try some of these recipes passed down to me from friends and neighbors. There's nothing like New Mexican food. The keyword here is chili. Enjoy!
